so a few weeks ago i posted what i thought might be on deaf kittens love company. Now i know for sure. I just sent off the master copy today to shelby to be printed up. here's how it's gonna look:

for those of you that read this who will get it: there's a 'secret' song on track fifteen. initially the song had been a bass and vocal tune i improvised late one night, but i later re-recorded it with guitars. i thought i'd throw it on there just for interest and because i didnt think that shuffle in the key of a quite sufficed as a closer. And, yes, you'll notice that there are four songs on there about niamh. i'm sorry, i didnt really realize it until about three days ago that roughly a third of the album would be about niamh. niamh's song part one and two were both improvised pieces that i initially never thought i'd use, but eventually decided that i liked too much to not use. and packawonga and hello niamh both were just really solid songs that i wanted on the album. i'm really happy with the way sophie's song turned out. i hope she will be too. i also am glad that shelby's gonna let me put good night on there. it's probably my favorite song of his and although i'm not sure i quite do it the justice it deserves, i do like the way it turned out. it's weird that in trying to even out the album in terms of acoustic/band songs i ended up with all the niamh songs and all the deaf cat songs together... i hadnt really realized that until a few days ago, either. i think it works though. hopefully next album i'll have some new subject matter. no promises, though.
also, dont forget:
december second at the old redmond firehouse we'll be playing. show starts at 8. costs six bucks. should be a good time.
i dont think the album will be ready by that date but if you ask i might have a few copies that i'll make up for anybody's who especially eager (i'm doubting that there will be many of you...)
