I was on top of the bike shed tarring the roof paper when this hit me. Anybody running for office as a member of one of the uncreative parties should be required to live on the other side for a month before they are eligible to run ( Read more... )

um, lots of Dems HAVE been business people. I can't think of any Repubs who were on welfare tho. I don't think any Dems were ever on welfare either.

Well its a first cut. What blind spot do Dems have that needs filling? Don't say they don't have any, because they sure can't get anything done with their big brains.

only a month? How about anyone holding office has to live on the median salary of the country for their entire term?

Good idea. Of course, most if not all congresscritters are dependently wealthy, so this wouldn't really hurt.

Maybe as their first act of public service, they have to donate their fortune to the government, then live on the median salary of the country for their entire term.
