I realized/was told that the 300 pages in our history book we were supposed to read before coming on the trip (oops) I'm getting through it slowly but it's not too hard to keep up with lectures.

Right now I'm 7 hours ahead of you so it's 10 here and all the greeks are just going to dinner; they go out and party hard every single night. Every bar we passed last night was packed with people. but I guess it's alright b/c i mean this was the capital of the Miseeni Empire or something like that.

The places we went to today were mind blowing, you know the Accroplis and all those other greek temples? they are all white marble and look beautiful right? they used to be painted! they used to have frescos and all the sculpures were painted but it just washed off. Today I saw a temple that had been burried for 2000 years only to be unearthed and found that it has all it's beautiful paintings in tact! we also saw the tomb of Phillip II, Alexander the Great's father. That had some paintings too but the tomb had never been robbed so it was full of all this wonderful treasure like beautiful gold wreaths of oak leaves and acorns but they were so detailed and delicate I had no idea how they made them.

I'm working on my tan too but very gently, so far we haven't been to the beach yet (I'm kind of bummed but hopfully that will change tomorrow) we go half way to Sparta tomorrow, I never thought I would acctually get to visit Sparta!!

Well it's getting v. smokey here (everyone smokes, it's gross) so I'm gunna sign off.
