All alone
Over the past year and a half my useful co-workers have been leaving two at a time. Some have gone on to better things, some have shifted sideways... and others regret their decision. You would think that over time I would get used to this sort of behavior. I was just blindsided yesterday by the only competent co-worker left in my group announce that he was seeking another position.
This sucks... as I really get along well with the competent co-workers, and tend to avoid the ones who have to ask how to check things out of CVS.
Which means that there are now only 3 competent Java developers in our department... one who was just hired out of college a month ago. I'm out of people to bounce ideas off of :( I'm out of people to ask silly questions without raising an eyebrow :( I'm out of people to travel up to the main campus to drink beers with after hours :(
Makes me wonder if I should still be here... I could move along with this latest defection... the group would be fun to be in... and I've spent the last year and a half doing the job that they are hiring for...
