Mommy Boobs
It's official! The Mommy Boobs are now living up to their name! I had Cole Avery Rogers this past Thursday, February 1st at 9pm via C-section. (Birth story to come at a later posting when the baby monitor isn't screaming.)
Cole is a healthy 6 pounds 15 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long. I never knew that 1/4 inch would be important until I became a mom. Now it is apparent that it is, for just in case another mom has one of those stupid "My kid can beat up yours" bumper stickers. I'll make sure that his extra 1/4 frame is given the credit it deserves!
So tonight I had a thought. Keep in mind that this comes after 4 hours of sleep in the last 48. Don't forget that those 48 hours are just here at home, that doesn't include the absolute lack of sleep that new moms get in the hospital. Just when you fall asleep there, you get pricked with a needle, or someone called a "lactation consultant" starts to grab at your boobs. (Emmanuel, there is the job for you!)
So back to my thought...I was heading to nurse Baby Cole again (he eats every 2 hours or so) and as I walked in the room I just started dropping clothes and getting ready for our "bonding". That is when I wondered...Is this what it feels like to be a prostitute?
