Yeah yeah, this is the first chance I've had to get my head above water in several weeks, so bear with me.
First of all, no Chicago Fire talk. That was fucking brutal yesterday.
Second of all, how about those Brewers? 22-20, over a quarter of the way through the season, and they're still over .500. They're a starting pitcher or two (possibly three, but Santos is looking like the real deal, and I have high hopes for Obermueller. He did go to Iowa, after all.) away from being a really solid team, though to be a really good team, they need to replace a couple of these decent hitters with really good ones, and that's not going to happen on the current budget. It was awesome that Sheets struck out 18 against the Braves, because it meant I got to watch it, and even my little brother who redefined apathy was getting into it. I can't count the number of curveballs in the dirt that the Braves batters waved at, but Sheets' stuff was just filthy. And Lyle Overbay, you are the man. As or right now, I'd say the Brewers have three legitimate candidates for All-Star, though they won't get more than two. (Overbay, Sheets, and Dan Kolb)
Next, my teaching gig last week. Overall, it went pretty well. My mother still has a job, and the sub that had to sit in the classroom and watch me teach seemed to be fairly impressed by how I handled things. They say genetics are a strong thing, and I must have inherited some teacher genes from my mother. Teaching HS Spanish is not something I want to do as a career, but proving to myself that I could handle it makes me very happy. Very weird, but at least I always have a backup career. Everyone needs a Spanish teacher.
Finally, I'm home, and not running around doing stuff for everyone. It was so nice to just go to sleep and not get up at 6 AM today. I get this week off, then I have to start my internship. That, too, will require getting up at 6 AM, but hey, at least it's *my* choice of jobs, not my mom's, and I will be getting paid, quite well in fact, for my time. Hello career, it's time for you to start.
Ah, there's more that could be written, but not today. I'll probably try to figure out life from here tomorrow. Adios.
