My name? That one's easy. Azazel is a Hebrew word. "Azaz" means rugged, and "El" means strength, power, or of the Lord. I'm definitely not of the Lord, I can assure you of that. But a rugged power? That's a good way to describe me. Rugged, strong, powerful. Just the sort of servant that Lucifer needs to lead his army. And I must say, I do my job well.
There are of course, other names by which I am known. These names are mostly given to me by my enemies, but I take them on gracefully, adapting to my new circumstances. After all, I don't want all of them to know exactly who they are dealing with. Sometimes it's better to keep them in the dark. And so I was popularly known as the Yellow-Eyed Demon, or the YED for short. My eyes are different from other demons'. Where they have black, I have yellow. And so the name. It works for me. It keeps one of the more alarming aspects of my figure (which really is the only way to tell I am a demon) fresh in people's minds, which leads to more fear. And fear is how I play the game.
