I think it's great you have parents that are concerned about what you watch. I remember watching Nightmare on Elm Street and then Halloween in the same evening at a Halloween party when I was about ten, nearly finished me off!
Look at all the great films you can ask for on your eighteenth birthday though!
Don't be too disheartened, Scent of a Women is quite possibly his finest role, either that or the Godfather films (yes, even number three!) or Scarface.

All the Pacino movies you have seen are all rated R, probably except Simone.
