Christmastime wrap up

Decided to hang in today and watch all the Boxing Day Football matches, hang pictures on the walls, put presents away and generally clean up. Plus check want ads.

Awesome! There's 4-5 jobs in the MA-RI-CT - you know, greater Massachusetts - area with different electric companies that I (at least enough to pretend I do) qualify for. I suddenly intend to spend a chunk of the next few days applying for these.

Christmas was cool jediseth and I picked out wines that went over well, and Monday we had some wines from some (distant?) relatives of my bro-in-law who make wine in CA, plus some stuff from Woodstock the next day. Come to think of it, I reckon my Dad, Pam, and I have each drank 3 bottles of wine during festivities. My family rules. My mother did drag us to church Xmas eve, but my Dad told me to bring my cell phone so we could check the score on the Pats game. Priorities. My mom was angry, my sisters found it hilarious, and it was promptly forgotten after church so as not to put a damper on the day. mere's brother and his girlfriend brought the wee human, and everyone was ordered to take turns holding him. Holding a newborn scared me. Too fragile, and I was certain I was doing something wrong.

My Mom had to work on Christmas morning, so we did gifts late in the afternoon. I slept there, as both my sisters mandated I do so, as it was not permissible for me to wake up in an empty house on Christmas. So we spent the morning watching stale Christmas movies and Bond flicks. When presents came, both my folks were very pleased at what I got them, then promptly told me I spent entirely too much money on gifts. Yeah, right.

All told, this was the first Christmas my sisters and I had almost as much a hand in running as my folks, and I really enjoyed doing it. Mayhaps I should be shot. It's also going to be sad if/when the house is sold. I didn't live there until I was 12, so it's not childhood Christmas memories per se, but it's just a perfect New England-Christmas type of house, and big enough to hold tons of people. And wine.
