Some of these may not be your style of books, but I'm telling you anyway! I will put stars by must-reads (according to me!).
So I already told you that The Book of Lost Things was good. Also, though: *The Book of Salt (Monique Truong) - really good omg The Yellow Wallpaper (Charlotte Perkins Gilman) - this is a short story but SO GOOD we read it in high school >.> *The House of Spirits (Isabelle Allende) - ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES Eva Moves the Furniture (Margot Livesey) - i read this SO LONG AGO but i liked it way back then? (but who knows about my judgement back then...) 1984 (George Orwell) - if you have never read this i will cry *His Dark Materials (Philip Pullman) - will also cry.... The Hundred Secret Senses (Amy Tan) - amy tan is good in general, i read this a few years ago, thumbs up *To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee) - instead of crying, i'll just murder you
And here are some suggestions I've been given by friends, but haven't tried yet: A Game of Thrones (George R. R. Martin) A Prayer for Owen Meany (John Irving) - actually I've heard all of his books are really really good Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy) - one of mom's all-time favorites East of Eden (John Steinbeck) - another of mom's, but my other friend really likes Steinbeck too Count of Monte Cristo (Alexandre Dumas) Gone With the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) - my sister was OBSESSED Slaughterhouse Five (Kurt Vonnegut) The Historian (Elizabeth Kostova) - about Dracula! The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams) The Little Prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) War and Peace (Leo Tolstoy) - mom likes russian lit lol
And other books I have wanted to read/will read eventually: Invisible Cities (Italo Calvino) Lolita (Vladimir Nabokov) The Stranger (Albert Camus) The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (Haruki Murakami) White Oleander (Janet Fitch)
