So what I noticed about the Australian Jaeger is that it was named the Striker Eureka - most likely named after the Eureka Stockade, a very famous rebellion that took place in Victoria, one of the most southern states of Australia (yes, Australia has states too). However, Striker Eureka defends Sydney...a city in New South Wales. And Victorians and New South Welshmen have a pretty huge rivalry.
Basically, my prompt is that Herc and Chuck are Victorian, but their works crew are all from NSW. Hijinks ensue.
I will love you forever if you can work in a rogue Queenslander who has chips on their shoulder about both NSW and Victoria .

Considering Striker was also sometimes used to refer to gold diggers and 'Eureka' was an exclamation often specifically used when striking gold, you could probably interpret the Jaeger's name as something along the lines of 'the gold digger who finally struck gold'.

Ahahaa I can imagine someone from Western Australia just rolling their eyes and going 'pah! east coast morons!', and possibly someone from the ACT begging everyone to get along.
