This is my first journal posting.  This is a learning experience for me, and I have a feeling it will take me a while to get into the swing of things.  I hope I won't make too many mistakes as I learn the best ways to navigate LiveJournal.  Cheers!

Welcome!

This morning a friend of mine sent me this: A reply you made I imagine in sgastoryfinders...

Hi! I think what you're talking about is part of a fic by stella-pegasi called "Road Trip"? A great work in progress story that I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter on. The story I'm looking for involves just Sheppard and McKay. I just remember Rodney waking up and not finding Sheppard in the vehicle and finding him outside and freaking out.
Thanks for responding. ;)

I wanted to thank you for the kind words about Road Trip and let you know I am currently working on the next installment. I hope you continue to enjoy and that you have fun on LJ.

Lots of great communities, if you like to do graphics and challenges...there a wonderful land comm, stargateland you might want to check out. We are in the middle of a phase so you might not get to participate until this phase is finished but you can join. (Ask to be put on Team Scientists if you are interested....currently we are kicking you know what!)

Let me know if you need any help as you wander around this place. I have a cheat sheet of html code for posting and stuff that I would be happy to share. I had to make one to keep my sanity!

Again welcome and so glad that you are enjoying Road Trip!

Thank you!! And you're welcome for the kind words...they are deserved. I have enjoyed several of your fics and will definitely hang around for the continuation of "Road Trip". It's filled with humor and whumpage. What more can anyone ask? Ha ha!

Thanks for the rec on stargateland. I'll check it out. I may not rush into anything, as I am feeling a little awkward and would rather get more fluent in postings and designing before I get involved in something too advanced...ha ha...fewer chances of annoying anyone.

A cheat sheet would be great!! It may prevent me from making some mistakes or from avoiding doing something because I don't know what I'm doing (like embedding links, etc.)

I don't know if you've experienced this or not, but I am having an issue with "manage userpics". When I upload a new pic, a pic I uploaded previously is still in the cropping square. I can't see the new pic I pulled in (even if it's wider than the original), but when I crop the original pic and create a new userpic, it will create a userpic from the NEW photo. So weird and frustrating. Also, the original photo's shape and size limits the area I can crop of the new pic; i.e. if the new pic is wider, I can only crop within the area that exists on the original pic. There is no place on that page that I can see to clear out the original photo. If you have no clue about this, that's okay. I may happen upon a solution on my own eventually. Userpics aren't my biggest priority, but when I have an issue like that, I tend to want to figure it out.

Thanks again for the welcome! :) Looking forward to being a part of LiveJournal. I am not an experienced writer, definitely not in fiction, so I will see if I decide to work on developing that. I need to figure out what I want to do with my journal first, design-wise, theme, etc.
