as i sit here, waiting on the phone to talk to mesa college in san diego, i start to think about an end of an era. i’m waiting on the phone listening to automated speaker response of real voice telling me directions and commands to press certain buttons to get certain information. this is no good seeing as how i need to get my transcripts, unofficial or not, to show GCC (glendale community college) that i took the same classes in another state solely for the privilege of attending their renown community college. prerequisites are given for sake of keeping classes empty enough for those who received a passing grade in whatever is deemed the previous class which teaches the material necessary for the class desired. amazing how the enrollment desk has the authority to give me the classes i need despite the prerequisite protocol. i’m still waiting to hear from a helpful lady i talked to yesterday about getting the class i need. now to figure out what constitutes as an unofficial transcript and if i can just forge one for sake of not missing out on a class i would like to take now. one day, this rubber stamp theory of official tangible documents will be obliterated and hopefully schools will (as if they shouldn’t already) be able to communicate much more efficiently.
official transcripts vs. unofficial transcripts and the means by which they are received and accepted
a globalized unified academia vs. the egos and minds governing them
long distance phone companies vs. cell phones charging by minute however, breaking the distance barrier set by land lines.
