Extra Texture: Fitted Knits

"Fitted Knits" by Stephanie Japel arrived in the post this morning. I couldn't wait to look through it........WOW! I absolutely love it.

I love that it is ALL garments, no accessories at all. Don't get me wrong - I very much like socks, (ah, socks ♥ ♥) and scarves and gloves etc but they do appear in lots of books, so it is a complete change to have just clothes.

I love the little descriptions of how and with what to wear!! I know we all know how to wear our clothes but it is nice to have a reminder of why we KNIT clothes - to be worn, rather than just for the sake of knitting.

I love the look of the shaping with the darts etc, the garments look very flattering. (I was looking through some of my old Rowan mags of the late 80s/90s, oh the shapes!! A lot of long and baggy sweaters with dropped shoulders and wide sleeves that gather into tight cuffs. Not flattering at all).

And I love that it starts with Spring knits!!!

I think this book has been put together well, it's very inspirational. The knitwear does look very wearable, the photography is great and I love all the extra detail pictures. I think the dress at the end would make a great sweater, just stop knitting at the hips!
The only thing I'm not keen on is some of the colours used but that's just down to personal choice.

Def a 10/10 for this knitting book.
