ugh.. and the saga continues
so.. not much to really write of other than...
a full month-plus of annoyances...
May 7, 2008 - went to a company-sponsored community service outing where we did environmental conservancy; i *know* it's where i got my poison oak;
May 9, 2008 - poison oak manifests and becomes an annoyance; treatment begins with use of Tecnu extreme, hydrocortisone, and benadryl gel
May 30, 2008 - almost all of the poison oak has subsided, BUT patch on right calf re-activates and flares up (blisters, suppurates, seeps)
June 2, 2008 - kaiser prescribes me prednisone (steroids) to aid in reduction of the reaction to the poison oak and sulfa antibiotics to stave off infection.
June 11, 2008 - all day at work, thermostasis is messed up and as the day progresses small allergic reactions pop up; go home early due to onset of intense fever and incoherence; sleep from 330pm all the way to 700am (with infrequent restroom trips at night). After the worst of the fever had broken, I'd had the wherewithal to hunt down my thermometer - 105F... more sleep.
June 12, 2008 - wake up to a temp of about 100; call Kaiser, get a dr's appt for 850am... go in, the doc shakes his head concernedly, but releases me with the proviso that i take benadryl, claritin, pepcid ac as instructed to alleviate the histamine reaction...
I know I should be hungry, but appetite has been suppressed due to the histamine reaction and the fluid flow... I pity the foolio who's around me when this clears and my appetite returns...
I'll post nasty pics of the poison oak and the rash later.....
