It occurred to me that my flist is more varied these days and there may be people here who haven't heard about
Dreamwidth or want to know more about it.
Dreamwidth is like LJ except better in some ways. I use it (
here's my DW journal) and I really like it. Here are two things that I find the most useful about it:
Friending is split in subscribing to journals (you can see the entries on your reading list) and giving access to people (letting them see your locked entries).
You can see cut entries with a single click without leaving the page. For example, all the cut entries on your reading page (or the most interesting entries, anyway).
This entry is inspired by LJ being down so often lately. I was greatly comforted by the fact that when it was down, I could still check my Dreamwidth friends page and see, for example,
fyredancer's entries. I have a lot of other friends who use Dreamwidth, too. In my experience TH fans mostly use LJ, though, and of course a new journal isn't very useful if you can't use it to keep in touch with people. In that case, you can still import all your LJ entries and comments and use Dreamwidth as a back-up journal. This way when LJ is down, you can still access your own entries.
You can get a Dreamwidth account by paying 3 US dollars or asking for an invite code. I've got 17 invite codes at the moment and I'm happy to share them with anyone, so comment or PM me with your email address and I'll send you an invite.
