A different kind of Christmas movie

The movie sounds quite interesting. It's also fun to hear about how traditions (holiday and otherwise) vary between cultures, and thank you for sharing this.

A bundle of twigs, eh? That's more threatening than the lump of coal naughty children are threatened with--occasionally--around here. (Though as I don't know anyone who uses coal for heating around here, it would be difficult to find a lump of it if a misbehaving child needed to be chastised!)

You're welcome! I also think the differences are fascinating, and part of the reason I wanted to post about this was to know more about your customs. :)

I was wondering if the twig-thing was unique to Finland, actually; I couldn't remember. But a lump of coal sounds familiar! So there's an equivalent there, even if it's not the same. And yes, the Finnish version is more than just lack of a pleasant gift! It's interesting how the lump of coal is still familiar to people even though actual heating coals might not even be used anymore.

I should have known -- you post a lot about YouTube, after all! I was kind of annoyed that I needed to sign in; I watch plenty of YouTube videos but I guess they're usually tamer...

I'm glad you liked it. :D
