It was 40 years ago today .....
... well, yesterday and 11 minutes. 1st June 1967 was when The Beatle's released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
I grew up on that album, playing my mum's record over and over again while dancing round the living room like a lunatic (did I ever tell you about the scar on my lip? I'll keep that for another day ... ). I don't know why she let me anywhere near it, though. If I owned original Beatles vinyl, there would be no primary school children getting their grubby little hands on it, flesh and blood or otherwise ....
Radio 2 has created a tribute to the album with some of today's famous acts for the anniversary. It's definitely worth a listen. My particular favourite is The Fray doing
