Bridge Collapse

Aug 02, 2007 13:07

Hello All.

I am sure by now you have heard or read about the bridge collapse in Minneapolis. This is a strange and scary experience. There have been many times when I have driven over that bridge once or twice a week. The fireman's dad uses that bridge everyday. Luckily, he was home yesterday.

The fireman has been working with rescue teams pretty much since the collapse happened. He is okay, but drained. Lets all take a minute and thank the resuce workers around us. They do this job thanklessly and are paid like Janitors or Garbage men. I hope we can remember the scene of them running to the fallen brige next time city budgets roll around.

Cell phone service is still a little spotty. Feel free to try to reach me. If I do not answer, I may be hugging my local firefighter. I suggest you all do the same.
