HAPPY NEW YEAR, 200EIGHT!!!
I went to the Kinki con on Dec. 31 as well as the Johnny's Countdown. The Kinki con was a lot of fun, even though I didn't know most of their latest songs. Since there is no "Hina" in Kinki that could stop them, they went on and on about random things during the MC, but it was really funny. Tsuyoshi sang a song "for" Koichi, but it ended up being a grand adlib performance by Tsuyoshi and the band that totally left Koichi alone, lol. I won't write a report since I didn't take any notes (and I don't know most of the songs) but I will just say that it was a lot of fun.
As for Countdown... yes, it was fun, but since my main interest in Johnny's is K8, it wasn't the greatest experience of all, let me just put it that way. I didn't know 90% of the songs and those wicked dances that most fans seem to have perfected (seriously!!) and the sound system was bad where I was seated so I had no clue what they were shouting in to the microphone. However, I am glad that I went because I was able to follow Shota throughout the show, on or off camera <3 I am also happy that I got to be there when he was the toshi-otoko and being a part of the Chu-Chu-7. For those of you who don't know, 2008 is the year of the Rat (or mouse) in the Chinese zodiac, and those who are turning 12, 24, 36 and so on will fall into the toshi-otoko (guy) or toshi-onnna (girl) terminology. The sound that mice make in Japanese is "chu chu," and there were seven toshi-otokos (two turning 36 and five turning 24 in 2008) hence the name "Chu-Chu-7." Last year's was "Inoshishi-7," which had Maru in it. Inoshishi is the boar.
Shota was waving and smiling at the crowd alllllllllllllll night long. Seriously. I'm so happy that he got as many cheers as Jin and Ryo during that short speech!! Maru and Hina (and Subaru) were totally NUTS. They were dancing and running around like crazy people!! During the TV commercials, they sang some songs and Maru was running back and forth across the stage... hahaha he was moving around so much and yet none of the cameras followed him!! LOL Yoko and Ohkura were rather quiet. I was quite pleased to see Ohkura, Maru and Shota playing instruments for one of TOKIO's old songs, though!!
Anyway, it was quite the experience but if I were to go to Countdown again, I hope to hit for a better seat so that I can at least HEAR what they are saying.
I have watched both Daidaya and the Muchaburi Special and MY GOD SHOTA can you BE any cuter!? Hahaha. Daidaya was soooooo funny. It was way beyond my expectations. The show was well organized and I like the concept of the "pinch-hitters" waiting in their locker rooms until their Coach shows up to call on them.
The studio part (when they are in their uniforms discussing things) was HILARIOUS so I will translate that here.
DECEMBER 29, 2007: DAIDAYA - STUDIO PART
PART 1: Who will take Harisenbon's Haruna on a date?? (Note: "Harisenbon" is a comedy duo... Haruka is the tall, skinny one and Haruna is the short, chubby one)
(VTR of Harisenbon's Haruka asking Daidaya to take Haruna out on a date. Basically, Harisenbon's kohais are getting tired of going out to eat with Haruna because she asks them out ALL the time... Haruna is quite ugly and has no boyfriend to spend time with.)
Subaru: No one wants to do this!!!
Hina: Don't be so selfish!
Ryo: This is such a demanding request, right from the start...
Subaru: Honestly... I don't want to have anything to do with this daida (=pinch hit)
Hina: Put your cap on.
Yoko: Subaru. That was just too straightforward of you to say something that everyone wanted to sayjhggjhe&%$$%&....
Hina: Say it properly.
Hina: Well... someone's got to do this, right?
Subaru: NOOO!!!
Shota: I don't wanna do it.
Coach: Sup?
Hina: Coach!
Narrator: Suddenly, the Coach showed up. Who's going to be named the pinch hitter for this one...?
Coach: You guys are chickening out, aren't you?
All: No, we aren't...
Maru: We're fine!
Hina: We're okay.
Coach: Really?
Subaru: YEAH!
Hina: You mean "Yes," right!? (be more polite) He's the Coach!
Subaru: YES!
Coach: Really?
Coach: Okay! I'm going to announce it now! The pinch hitter is......
Coach: NISHIKIDO!!
Ryo: EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
PART 2: Who will take Mint and Cream to Hokkaido?
(VTR of the actor from the hit drama "Aibou" asking Daidaya to bring him Mint and Cream, his pet dogs, to Hokkaido because he misses them. He figured that asking for the dogs was a less of a favor than asking them to bring his family. It's the first time for this actor to appear in a "variety" (comedy) show.)
Shota: This is good! This sounds good...
Maru: Grrrr! Grrrr! (lol)
All: This sounds good.
Narrator: It's a simple request to bring Mizutani-san's two dogs to Hokkaido. Who are the lucky members to get this task?
Coach: Daida! .......Yasuda! Maruyama!
Shota and Maru: YAAAAAAY <3 <3
Narrator: Yasuda and Maruyama are so happy! But, they did not know what tragedy awaited them...
PART 3: Please pinch-hit for TV Asahi and advertise this show as much as possible on TV!! (Note: Their goal is to get 100% viewer ratings in total)
(VTR of TV Asahi's Head of Advertising saying he's looking forward to K8's first show on TV Asahi, and asking the boys to try and get into as many shows as possible to advertise the Dec. 29 broadcast)
Hina: You guys... he must be one of those executives.
Yoko: Yamamoto-san is known to be the most generous person in TV Asahi. (YEAH RIGHT, LOL... I bet you this wasn't in the script. I love how he keeps a straight face when he says this nonsense.)
Shota: Really?
Hina: That generous Yamamoto-san is asking us for a favor... (Haha, Hina playing along) He wants us to advertise the show ourselves...
Subaru: Honestly...... I don't want to do this.
Yoko: You... that's the only thing you weren't supposed to say! (punches Subaru)
Hina: Yo! Don't punch him!
Shota: Subaru!! Subaru!!!!
Hina: You can't punch him!
Ohkura: STOP IT!!!! (His first line!!!!!)
Shota: What is it, Ohkura...
Hina: Ohkura...
Ohkura: It's our show... isn't it quite obvious that WE should do the promoting?? (so dramatic, lol)
Yoko: OHKURA!!!!!!
Hina: .....he's that way.
Subaru: OHKURA!!!!!!
Hina: ....THAT way.
Subaru: Ohkura... I was wrong!! You're right!!!
PART 4: We are always tripping over (="kokeru")...
(VTR shows that they failed to reach their goal of 100% ratings in total)
Ryo: We didn't make it...
Shota: Ahh, shit...
Subaru: Haha, we always fail, huh?? (SO dramatic! lol)
Yoko: Who cares how many times we fail...
Hina: Eh?
Subaru: Yoko...
Yoko: We've always failed! You, you, you, you, you and you, too!
Yoko: We've always tripped over (kokeru)... tripped and tripped and tripped some more!! But... we've always found our ways back up again, am I right?
.......
Coach: We walk, we trip, and we stand up again...
All: (LOL)
Coach: Who's saying this? Otokomichi... Please listen to this song. Kanjani8, Zukkoke Otokomichi!
(Note: The whole Part 4 drama was a prelude to "Zukkoke" Otokomichi, lol)
THE END!!
