So... it's been what, 2 months? 3 months? Haha, hi LJ! lol
I've been tweeting about it, but I went to Papadol filming last week. It was for episode 4 which aired just a few days ago. I was one of the people in the crowd at the music show that Ryo was dancing in.
I hit through the fanclub, and even though my number was in the 100s, I somehow ended up in the 2nd row from the front and where the cameras face a lot, haha! The people from the Ishikawa Sayuri fanclub had front rows in the center block, and You&J members started filling in from one block and then the other (I was one of the first ones in this group). I think there were about 800 people in total.
The music show scene in the drama itself was about 15 minutes or so, maybe? The whole filming lasted 8 hours including a short break!! Pretty crazy, right? I was so hungry and tired at the end!! But I got to see most of the cast really close and got to talk to Yashima-san (like really TALK, had a pretty long conversation with him!!) so it was a great, great experience!! Ryo was really close too, but since I've seen him a number of times before, I was more excited to see the other actors and actresses (sorry Ryo, lol).
While people were being seated, the staff explained to us what kind of scene this was going to be. "Ishikawa Sayuri-san will be singing and Nishikido-san will be wandering into her performance and be dancing with her." We were like "HUH?????" lol. But I got excited when I knew I will be seeing Ishikawa Sayuri!
After everyone was seated, the staff introduced Ryo and Ishikawa Sayuri and they came to the stage. Both of them said a few words to say hi to us. Ryo left the stage for a bit and filming started with Sayuri-san's song. They filmed the songs a few times from different angles so I was starting to memorize them, haha.
Since I was to the right of the stage, I was able to see the left side of the backstage really clearly. I got to see all the acting Ryo was doing with the two kids and Enari-kun. I wasn't able to see anything on my side during Ishikawa-san's scene though, which I found out later had Yashima-san and Zaizen-san panicking over Ryo's sudden appearance.
For "Amagi Goe," which is the song Ryo was dancing in, they first had a dry ice smoke effect. But, the machines had all sorts of problems so they got rid of them. We had to wait for quite a long time while they tried to fix them up but failed to do so. During this long wait, Sayuri-san was really nice and kept the crowd into it. She talked to us and was cute all along.
They filmed the part where Ryo was showing the kids around backstage while Sayuri-san was singing. I could see everything that was going on, but I'm sure the people on the other side had no idea. We didn't hear anything they were saying, though. They then filmed the part where Ryo came up on to the stage, had Enari-kun throw the red cloth at him and started dancing. Here, they were doing the actions but not much of the speaking. They took a closer-up shot with the talking later on when they moved the cameras on to the stage.
The dance teacher was pretty friendly and she talked to us a lot as well. "Hungry, right?" YEAH, haha. They filmed more things going on on stage before Sayuri-san left for the day. She was a very good sport til the end. When Sayuri-san and Ryo filmed the part where Ryo was apologizing to her, the staff told us that the people in my area will be in the shot so we had to act curious about what was going on between Sayuri-san and Ryo. The person in front of me had left to go to the bathroom, so I had no one in front of me at that point, haha. You can see me very tiny in that shot.
After Sayuri-san left, they shot Ryo's dancing more closely with a few of the dancers. They also shot a closer-up of Enari-kun and the kids watching Ryo. Ryo was fooling around with the red cloth when he was not on camera. I actually had no idea why Ryo ended up coming on to the stage because the whole fight-with-the-kid scene was filmed elsewhere. When I saw the show on TV, I was like ohhhhhh. ...But I still find it weird why the stage was down for Ryo to wander into in the first place; it wasn't down when Sayuri-san started singing the song!
I found it funny how the young female staff had to "fix" something on Ryo's clothes every chance she got. I think she was showing it off to the fans. I wasn't affected by it, but I'm sure a few of the fans were jealous at her. She didn't have much to "fix" for the other actors and actresses compared to the amount of contact she was having with Ryo!
They also had Yuuka and the two daughters sitting in the crowd watching. They didn't appear until we were very much into the actual filming, and since they were way on the other side of where I was, I couldn't get a very close look at them but I could tell that Yuuka had a very small face, Umika's skin was nice and Kanon-chan's bow was cute, hahaha. Shintaro was at the filming too! He was at the very back so I couldn't see him too well either, but I could tell that he was very tall.
Ryo had to leave after he was done shooting for his parts. He thanked us for coming and wished us luck for the rest of the filming. They filmed some more for the boys, Enari-kun, etc. It was getting late and the staff asked if anyone had to leave. I didn't mind staying, but a few people started leaving. I think I made a great choice to stay because the fun came towards the end of filming!
We had a quick break where we all went to the lobby to eat and drink something (they told us we could bring stuff to eat and drink but inside the hall, we weren't allowed to!). Then, with the people who decided to stay, we filmed the entrance scene where the curtains were down (they were getting rid of the whole set while they were shooting Shintaro in the back). Some people were asked to act as the people coming down the steps and some were asked to be the ones already in their seats. I chose to be the latter, and good thing I did because I got to talk to Yashima-san!
Yashima-san and Zaizen-san's scene happened right in front of me, so while they were waiting for things to get set up and while Zaizen-san was away acting with Yuuka on the other side, Yashima-san came to us and started talking casually. He said "Did you all enjoy seeing Nishikido-kun? Pretty, isn't he?" I said "You're handsome too!" He said "'Too' sounds like you're saying it just because!" So I said "No, seriously! Are you a... Johnny's?" He said "Haha! Me!? No! But thank you." Then, he found a familiar face and said "Didn't we act together before too?" The guy said "Yes!" He was acting as one of the staff (a fake one) and he said that he was in the scene where Ryo went to ask Sho for his autograph in episode 1. Yashima-san told us that he never acted with Sho and Ohno in that scene. They had already filmed their part in advance, so the guy you see in the scene with Yashima-san was actually that guy he was talking to! The back of the head is not really Sho's! LOL I was surprised and we kept on talking about that for a while, me, Yashima-san and the fake staff guy. Very weird but fun moment, haha. Yashima-san then asked around to see whose fans we were. There were many Shota fans around and I didn't hear anyone say Ryo, lol. Yashima-san asked me and I said Yasuda-kun. He said "Ahh, Yasu!" I should have told him to tell Shota that I like him no matter what his hairstyle is, hahaha. Yashima-san kept on making faces and fooling around even during the actual filming (he said "They're not going to use this facial expression anyway!") so he really lightened the mood up. We were in our 7th hour of filming so we were all tired, but Yashima-san made me laugh a lot :-)
In the scene where Zaizen-san starts walking toward Yuuka, I was like right there in the seat at the front. I knew the camera was facing my way but I didn't know if they were going to use that angle and even if they did, how zoomed in/out were they? I didn't expect much but when I watched the actual show, I couldn't stop laughing because I was so clearly in the scene!! My parents were laughing so much at it too, hahaha. That was my on-screen debut, hehe XD Zaizen-san was really pretty. She had the special aura of an actress; not that she was bossy or anything! She was so smilely and cute all along.
Once they finished filming the Zaizen-san/Yashima-san interaction scene and Zaizen-san going down the stairs, the staff asked us to move up to the second floor because they wanted people up there as well. We weren't going to be on camera in our seats anymore anyway. So we went up and I sat in the 1st row of the 2nd floor. I made friends with the girl sitting close to me, so we chatted while Zaizen-san was giving her name card to Yuuka. You can see me in that scene too, haha. First I was way at the front and only a few seconds later, I'm on the 2nd floor! They actually moved people around a lot, so there are many bloopers if you look closely. We didn't have enough extras to fill the place up, so in some scenes you see people on the 2nd floor but in others there are none.
My long day of filming ended on the 2nd floor. It was exhausting but definitely a great experience!! I felt like I was really a part of the drama and to be able to see all the actors and actresses was just an awesome thing.
Yay!! :-D
...Btw, I went to see BOB during this trip to Tokyo, too. Maru was so skinny and good-looking! He looked so different from the last time I saw him, which was at Countdown. BOB was a really cute show, too. I'm looking forward to seeing it again in Osaka next weekend!
