[8UPPERS] THE STORY

Oct 16, 2010 15:07

Since the Animal Magic PV used clips from the movie, I have taken screen shots of it and will use it to explain what the movie is all about. Of course, those who are avoiding spoilers shouldn't click the link below, but those who don't mind spoilers, I hope you enjoy it! Also, if you don't understand the Japanese language too well, I hope this will be like a guide as to what's going on in the actual movie.

Please note that I've only seen the movie twice so I might not have everything in order and/or correct. Sorry about that!

Here goes!!!

This is a story about seven men who have grown up together in an orphanage. Together, they own a club and also work as a team to destroy things based on people's requests.

Their first target is a man who works for real estate but does bad business with money behind-the-scenes. The team's mission is to destroy all his documents.

(See the part after Ohkura's solo PV in "Prologue of Patch" on how that mission went.)

They succeed and bring back all the documents. Because Arsenal lost the janken, he's got a pile of documents to put through the shredder. Gum is practicing his kanfuu poses while screaming "Ahhhhhhhrsenal!" A topless Ace comes into the room and says that his body aches; Arsenal asks him why and Ace says that it's because he was enjoying life the night before. Arsenal asks Ace to help him out with the shredding, but Ace doesn't since he didn't lose the janken. Ace takes a shot and makes Johnny wash the shot glass.

Meanwhile, Mac, Jacky and Toppo are out waiting on their next mission. Mac has received a request from a person who was desperately trying to get rid of something. They wait in the van while the person arrives. Jacky goes on and on about how time is so important to him and that the person is too late. Mac and Toppo are irritated by Jacky's obnoxiousness. Jacky says his dream is to make the club a restaurant that everyone can come to eat food. He asks Toppo what his dreams are and Toppo says that it's a secret... Jacky says it is the most boring thing he's ever heard.

Toppo is playing his game and Mac is waiting while Jacky keeps on talking. Toppo succeeds in one of his games, and Jacky tries to take over. Then, the customer they've been waiting for drives by. A young lady comes out of the car, takes out a big box, places it on the ground and leaves in a hurry. The three guys drive closer to the box. "This must be the thing she wanted to get rid of."

They take a look inside the box and found that it... was something they had not expected. They decide to bring it back to the others.

Back in the club where Arsenal, Ace, Gum and Johnny were waiting, Mac, Jacky and Toppo come back with the box. They place the box on the table and ask the other four to just take a look at it. This was their next mission. The four take a look and... see a baby inside. The seven of them gather around the table and start discussing what to do. Ace and Arsenal do not want the baby around, but the rest say that they need to take care of the baby. The majority wins in the Eight-Rule, so they decide to take care of the baby.

They start a janken to see who was going to take care of the baby first. The loser is Toppo, and he is the first one to go. He doesn't have a clue as to how to take care of the baby, so he just makes the baby sit on the table. The baby starts to cry so he holds him. Then, he smells his fingers... and has to run immediately to the bathroom to wash his hands. It stinked!

They all decide to go shopping for the baby because they didn't have anything for him to eat, drink or play with. Mac, Gum and Jacky go look for milk, food and a stroller with the baby while Arsenal, Toppo and Johhny start looking for his clothes. Ace stays in the aisle for toys while random children start poking him around.

While they are shopping, bad-looking men dressed in black start roming around the shopping mall. They find their target, and follow them through the parking lot. Suddenly, Gum, who was heading back to the van with the baby, is surrounded by four men. Something inside Gum clicked, and he starts fighting against the men in black while protecting the baby. Mac and Jacky, who were putting things in the van, hear the noise and see what is going on. A shorter man comes into view and starts threatening Jacky with a knife. Jacky responds by taking out his butterfly knife (that turns into a fork! surprise!). Mac runs to get a broom stick and throws it over to Gum, who in turn kicks the stroller to Mac and have the baby out of harms way. The rest is history for the bad guys, as Gum single-handedly destroys them all.

Back at the club, the guys start enjoying spending time with their new family member. Johnny names the baby boy "Eito." Ace and Arsenal are still not sure if they like the idea or not, but start getting used to their new environment. They also start taking Eito with them to their usual workplaces. (I'm not going to go into details on how they all start opening up their hearts to the baby... many screenshots instead!)

In the park, Arsenal asks Ace how many people he's killed before. Ace doesn't remember, but Arsenal confesses that he remembers who and how many he has killed with his own hands. He didn't think that it was right to hold Eito with hands as dirty as his. Ace tells Arsenal that people can change. It wasn't a big deal; he should hold Eito, too.

Then one day, Mac brings back information on the mother of Eito and shows it to Jacky. Mac says they should go find her and talk to her about this. Jacky doesn't like the idea at first because he was mad at how the mother was irresponsible enough to abandon her own baby like that. It wasn't fair that a mother who is related by blood can do stupid things like that and still get away with it, while those who love the baby so much but isn't related by blood need to let him go. But Mac convinces him that mothers really love their children. To Mac, even though they are not related by blood, all the guys were like real brothers to him. It shouldn't matter. Jacky agrees.

Mac and Jacky go meet the mother while the others stay in the van to listen to the conversation. Mac and Jacky tell the lady that the baby is in good hands and ask her why she did something horrible like this. The mother feels relieved that the baby is safe, and starts explaining to them that the boy was the son of her and a famous politician, whose father is the prime minister. The guys in the van figure out that the bad guys were after the baby because they didn't want the world to know that he had an illegitimate child. They couldn't be any angrier about it.

The guys decide to break into the father's office.

They come face to face with the politician. The politician asks them what is it that they are after; money!? No. The politician says that it is all that chick's fault; she should not have given birth to this baby. This baby shouldn't have been born at all. Johnny yells "There's no life that shouldn't have been born!" The politician yells back to say that they wouldn't understand what it's like, but Toppo yells back to say "It's guys like us who would understand what it feels like!!"

Mac hands the politician a knife and goes over to Johnny who gives Mac the baby. Mac brings the baby over to the father and gives Eito for him to hold. Mac then tells the politician to kill the baby with his own hands if he wanted to. If he doesn't want the baby to be alive, he should do it himself. The politician drops the knife, saying he couldn't do that, and apologizes to the baby.

The guys go back to the Club and start cleaning up the toys and the clothes for Eito because they were going to give him back to the mother. All but Johnny agreed; Johnny loved Eito so much that he didn't want to let go of him. Ace tells him that they can go see him whenever they wanted, but Johnny doesn't think so. The others convince him as well and Johnny couldn't do anything else but to do what they say... except, he wanted them to grant him one final wish.......

...The "wish" part wasn't in the Animal Magic clip so I'm not going to write about that part!!!! It's such a cute scene though :-D

The Animal Magic clip left out many good scenes, so please watch the movie to really enjoy the whole story!!!
