Australia decides. Well, not really
So the really good news - The Greens won their first seat in the lower house . The seat of Melbourne, my electorate. Yeh.
The bad news. The Labour party has not won enough seats to govern.
THe good news is, they may form a minority government with the support of the Green MP and a few independents.
THe bad news is the Liberals may be able to form a minority government with the support of a few independents.
The good news is that, from July next year, the Greens will hold the balance of power in the Senate.
Hmm, does that mean that we might finally get a carbon tax, a decent mining tax, a logical policy on asylum seekers, and gay marriage?
I doubt it some how, but one can dream.
