Sense of wonder for the day

If you have ever tried to draw or paint, even a little -- or at least, if you've ever wanted to do representative rather than purely abstract work -- you will not want to miss the report of this project from a team at MIT. It's a video/camera array that, to simplify things wildly, is so fast that it can capture the movement of photons through space, and thus shows us light moving through space at a speed where we can actually see what's happening.

There are videos at the link that show a couple of the results. You can see exactly how light falls, in all its complexity and splendor. The world, it is a wonderful place.
