(no subject)
so, at some point I will put up a looonngg thing about my mid-semester break, cause it really was amazing,a nd I hightly recommend going to new zealand, it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and I want to go back in the summer so I can camp and star gaze and not freeze my ass off :) but, cause I haven't posted in foreva, I felt like I should put up a short anecdote about things that happen here, not that this is a frequent occurance, but it was really fun, and really funny, and shows how weird things just seem to happen to alyssa and I.
so, wednesday night pub night was pretty bad, and made me want to go out and do something really fun on friday, so we figured we'd go to HQ with some girls and have a good 'ol night of drinking and dancing and general funness. But then the weather decided to go to hell, and to fix the drought RIGHT at the end of the week and all through the weekend, so basically it's been raining since thursday. So, come yesterday, the thought of going out and getting soaked in the process just wasn't inviting, but staying in and getting sloppy with a bunch of ppl and some good ol drinking games sounded like a great idea. So, we wandered around Aquinas and found a whole lot of ppl, got some beer (soaked in the process, of course I don't have an umbrella) and got everyone into our room.
Start playing some kings, which apparently just had way too many ppl who didn't know the rules to actually work smoothly, but duh, we just taught it, and it was amazing anyway, and I was definitely drunk and would say drink/drank/drunk everytime, have to drink, and basically didn't follow my own rules once. More ppl came in, making a giant oval, and finally when the game was done we set up flip cup, on my desk, *ew* and everyone's drunkeness got progressively more and more, including trying to get *someone* drunk enough to pass out, and several instances of skulling port, which is seriously not a pleasant experience, I have no idea why I decided to do that, even just once, sweet thick wine does not go down as well as beer. People start dancing during all this, with the love scarf wrapped around everyone, and suddenly there's a lava lamp sittin on my shelf and the lights are out. I look up, go "lava lamp!!" then go back to flip cup, until alyssa comes over and tells me the powers out... I was positive someone had just turned them off. Everyone for their own reasons thought it was their fault the lights had gone out, but everything just went on, we got someone's iPod speakers, kept dancing, a lot, and accumulated more ppl somehow. Finally went for a walk to get an AB, lost the majority of our group somehow, sat in the hallway and talked and bitched till we got yelled at, then passed out, feeling like i was breaking curfew cause I was wandering around in the dark the whole time.
We still didn't have power this morning, and waking up to the smell of beer and port is... bbuuuhhh... but got cleaned up really fast, and it only took like 4 scrubbings to get my desk un-sticky :) finally got power back this afternoon, but moral of the story is, of course the power has to go out the one time we decide to throw a party, but hell, we are so doing that again it was so much fun, I freaking love aquinas people, even when I find out I'm trying to get a 17 yr old trashed, oops! I feel so old...
anyway, off to dinner and figuring out waht I'm doing tonight :)
oh, carebear, could you remind me when apt. cleaning is this summer and if you have a crew set up already? cause I think I may actually be back and I'll need money
