So ideally I wanted to wait until this was confirmed by Arsenal or Senderos' own website, but as usual Arsenal.com seem intent on finishing last place in our very own snail race, while the latter's personal website appears to get updated about as often a teenage boy changes his socks. OK, you didn't need to know that.
But you can find various sources
here,
here and
here, all saying pretty much the same thing: Subject to a medical, Philippe Senderos will be joining AC Milan on a year-long loan deal, with the option to make it permanent if his time in Italy is a success. With Nesta injured, that place for him available and Senderos the type of player who performs increasingly well the more games he gets, I can see him doing very well over there. He deserves to do well. As an Arsenal fan, I'm puzzled as to why we've let him go out on loan with so few options as it is already in the centre of defence, but the thought of losing him for good actually pains me. I think the guy's a lot better than a lot of us ever gave him credit for (and I don't mean to be smug, but I always liked him: so NER!), and I just hope "we" haven't realised this too late. Though it seems we have.
