August 4th is Name Your Shoes Day.
Uh, a lot has happened that I didn't post about. This is partially due to laziness and partially due to forgetting I have a livejournal. I'm not entirely sure how that happens so often, seeing as my livejournal is my homepage.
Oh well.
I was recently in upstate New York. I got to look at a lot of waterfalls and run around in a gorge. This was really fun, except the bottom of gorge was covered in algae and extremely slippery. I ended up slipping and hitting my head, which was not so fun. While I was sitting down and making sure I wasn't concussed, two raccoons showed up and started playing in the water. The jerks could do it without slipping.
I also saw a very large millipede. It was a little less than a half inch thick and five inches long. I didn't think they got that big in the US (especially not in the eastern US), but evidently they can. And according to wiki, they're pretty common. Yay, venomous animals that might like to hide in your boots.
And I like to make up ridiculous holidays. It's a lot of fun.
