Jubilee would of actually arranged to meet him not at the villa, maybe outside of Italy. Not because she does not trust him, but because she does not want to get in trouble for bringing an uninvited guest home again.
She is dressed for church and gives him a shy smile, "as ready as I will be."
"Well lets go, I would fly us there but I lost my powers and gained someone elses." He looks at a blank piece of the wall and opens a shadow portal. "Stupid LOL, this is my only means of transportation. After you."
They appear infront of a huge church that says Salvation army in front of it. "Raven's powers." Gabriel said with a bit of anger. "A demon's powers, on a different note, we are in Burin Newfoundland and this is a salvation army church." They both walked up the steps and sat down. Waiting for the minister to begin. "Plus it should only last for a few days."
"I still have a bit of yours, do you need them back? So you are able to defend yourself just in case?" Jubilee asked in a hushed concerned tone. She could tell he was upset, and she so much wanted to do something about it.
"If you are sure..." Jubilee had wanted this day to be special for him, and all ready it was a bad start to things.
"It was okay. Wolvie came home for Christmas. And I am glad that he did. Just, you know, wishing I had more time with him. That he did not have to go back to the States."
"Yeah its a pitty you can't return to the states." The priest took his place up on the stage and looked at all the people. "I'm very glad to see such a turn out to today's service. As you know this church will be closing down this year due to lack of funding. I suggest going to the church in Marystown." The priest stops for a moment and opens his bible. "Would you all join me in the lords pray." The auidence rose and began to say the lord pray. Gabriel knew it off by heart.
The sudden standing took Jubilee by surprise, and she blushed when she slowly rose to her feet. As for the Lord's Prayer, she had no idea how to say it so she just sort of hide behind Gabriel.
They finished the pray and sat back down. The priested looked at his audience, "Would you all please turn your bibles to page 223 and we will begin our reading for today." Gabriel handed Jubilee a bible and opened to the exact page. "I've got this book memorized." He smiled.
The page of this bible was Jesus Christ's first miracle. The Priest spoke to his auidence. "There was a wedding celebration a long time ago and the bride of groom were in a panic about the after party of their wedding. For they did not have enough wine to last the evening. Mary looked at her son in hopes that he would help and he replied, 'this is not my time to aid.' This line confused lots of people including his mother. Its as if Jesus was waiting for a specific sign to occur before he acted. Then when the time came Jesus instructed men bring water up to him and they obeyed him. Once they brought the water up to him he put his hand over it and this was his first miracle. Now the groom's father looked at the bride's family for they were incharge of preparing this celebration and he said. Usually people bring out their best whine at the end of the celebration, however you start out with the best wine." The priest stopped to take a breath. "This is the message Jesus wished to make about all relationships, you have to give each other
( ... )
The priest paused for a moment, "I watch the news some days and it brings a tear to my eye of the things that are being done in the lords name. Wars rage on and mutants are punished by religious cults. They do not understand the true meaning of Jesus Christ's first miracle. God is love, he is not weapons or hatred he is solid pure love. He gives us the best of his love and we give back the best of our love. I would like to personally apologize on behalf of religion to any mutants in the audience today. Please do not judge the church on the actions of a few misguided fools. Anyone is welcome in this church no matter what you are and where you came from, for we understand what Jesus meant." Gabriel smiles and whispers, "He says the same speech every year. Around 51% of the people here are mutants." The priest continued, "Now let us rise and sing on ward Christian soldiers." Gabriel rose with Jubilee and began to sing the song.
