So..... Here's a theory. Why not make Rupert Grint the next Doctor after Matt Smith. He's a "name" which will work with the U.S. Audience (important as BBC America are providing the money), he's able to be excitable and/or run around and, most importantly, he's got eff all to do at the moment and and won't run off for something better (as he's tried and failed at that - also he's used to loosing 9 months of each year to his career with the HP films)

would also fit with Matt Smith's "and I'm still not ginger" line too......
