In my mind, there is no doubt that stoopidbird will be able complete the ride 100 within the time, what with her having run the marathon and all.

In my mind, all I have to be is as good as her.

Yesterday was day one of training. The good news is that, after I stopped cycling for 2 month due to snow/ice and then lingering illness, today is the first post-cycling day that I've not felt as if my legs were going to fall off (I exagerate, obviously).

Still, I feel like I'm already behind before I've started. Lucy has been training for 2 weeks and is already practicing on the bike she'll use for the..... for the what - race seems the obviously word, but to me, no aspect is about trying to compete with the other participants - to me it's all about finishing before the close the gates..... Either way, Lucy is already using the bike she's going to compete on, while I am still using nothing more than my beloved folding bike. I mean it's a high end folding bike, but it's not anything near good enough. Other than just getting the miles in, the first step has to be to get myself a proper bike.

First weekend of non-boozing on at lease one night (in order that I can practice the day after). Think this might mean I have to do a dry rollerderby (assuming I can get in)......
