My all-too-short winter break is quickly coming to a close. I've really enjoyed spending the Holidays at home, and I'm rather nervous about heading back to W&M next week. I've been following the primaries pretty closely, like I promised I would a few months ago. I really didn't see much point in following it all from Singapore, when the only information available was polls, but things are a lot more interesting now with Iowa's results in. I found a nifty little issues quiz online, and it turned out like this:

I'm pretty excited about Obama, actually. I heard a speech by him a few weeks ago where he encouraged college students at Iowa's universities to register to vote in Iowa so they could participate in the primaries. He took heat for that from other candidates who felt it was bussing in the wrong sort of voter, but it really appealed to me, especially considering all the crap the City of Williamsburg puts us through when we try to vote there.

I don't know what activities are going to dominate my time this semester, but I'm going to give the YD's a shot. I really want to participate in this presidential election. Going abroad gave me a new perspective on the importance of politics and the necessity of helping this country recover from the Bush debacle. It should be an exciting year!
