Paper or Plastic?

Ok , I really try to roll with North Carolina. I'm a born-and-bred Southerner but even so I sometimes have to just grimace and shake my head. Last night Ekta and I went to the local grocery store to stock up for the week (we've pretty much sworn off "eating out" in this one horse town), and one of the items on our list was hummus. Hanukkah or Christmas? queso_monkey June 11 2006, 02:37:53 UTC
1/ hummus rocks! i personally go for the red pepper version

2/ i was at a Hallmark in Wyoming (long story.....) and I asked the clerk where the Hanukkah cards were. She stood there with a blank stare on her face. Finally she said, "what's Hanukkah?" I thought about the nicest way to respond. (Oh in another twist of irony, she had a very thick German accent.)

Should I give her the whole Wikipedia version? Or should I just cut to the chase and realize that it doesn't really matter. I opted for the latter and said, "It's like Christmas for Jews." The light went off in her noggin, and she replied, "Oh...I'm sorry, we don't celebrate that here." No, of course not I said to myself....

3/ I hate those "loyalty cards"....just give me the lowest price! Where the User Experience Design in the grocery industry? Just give customers the lowest price! Duh. I know, they want that marketing info they gather from the card, but still...

4/ Ya. Gotta love that tobacco spit. My very first roomate in the dorms kept an empty "Head and Shoulders" bottle into which he would spit. Not the type of thing you expect from a guy who's dad is the UN Ambassador from Mexico. One day....yep......it spilled ALL over the place. Sick and wrong.

5/ Hang in there!

LOL at the Hanukkah story!

What's sad is that I have a loyalty card for a tiny NC chain in a town I don't live in...
