Random musings from the long lost:
-I'm so close to being done, I can taste it. Once I finish procrastinating by updating, furious typing will commence and the first draft of my Honors thesis will be complete! The weight is hovering, about to be lifted far, far away.
-Milk Duds is one of the best candies ever.
-I came to the realization while sitting on the top of Jones this morning that I'm really happy to be staying in Tacoma. And not even really for the obvious reason(s) (Em, other friends, awesome house, etc.), but because I really truly do enjoy living in the Northwest- yes, even enjoy living in Tacoma. Watching the sun rise over the Cascades, seeing the reds and pinks spread over the trees and houses and slowly stain the snow on Rainier, I had a sense of being at home. I haven't really felt anything like that since junior year of high school, when I sat watching a sunset over the Desolation Wilderness (a huge national forest near my house). It was just a feeling of affirmation, how this is where I'm supposed to be right now- a cosmic nod, as it were.
-I really like sunrises, especially from the tops of tall buildings.
-While driving home to change before work last night, I witnessed one of the most surreal things I have ever seen. Driving down Alder and about to turn onto 11th, I noticed that the van waiting to cross Alder on 11th was just sitting there, not going despite there being a huge opening for them to do so. Out of curiousity, I looked a little closer as I drew nearer and noticed that what appeared to be the drivers head was bobbing up and down. As I got closer still, I realized that the shape in the window was too big to be a head and was, in fact, a pink shirted female body, moving up and down rhythmically with her back to the windshield. While I didn't actually see a (presumably male) driver, there had to be one, as the van proceeded to move, crossing Alder. Near as I can tell, I witnessed the rare spectacle of road booty and was honestly rather weirded out by it.
yeah, that's it. Thesis ho!
