I heard him interviewed on NPR a couple of days ago...it was painful. I had to turn it off.

Ew indeed. Now, I likes me some KISS on occasion, but man, he makes me not want to like them.

A long tongue and a bass shaped like an axe can only take one so far.

did you see him politically incorrect? good god. and i read a transcript of the npr broadcast, which was distasteful, even for him. it worries me to think that gene simmons' funny quotient might be outweighed by his disgusting misogynist quotient.

I knew off the bat that it was gonna be bad when the NPR interviewer mispronounced his given name (Chaim Witz), and Gene said something to the effect of "it [the name] dosen't sound right coming off of a Gentile tongue", to which the interviewer replied that hers was, in fact, not a Gentile tongue. You could hear the tension in the silence.

Eek.

His appearance on Conan was basically an infomercial for all the shwag he's peddling nowdays (his book, the KISS Visa card, cell phone, coffin (!) etc.)

i wanted to see him, after witnessing the aforementioned media barrage, but i was at work. he may very well be one of the more repugnant public figures i know of. but, at the same time, when i see him (or any member of kiss) on tv, or hear a kiss song, i can't help but laugh.
