I have been re-acquainting myself with the old CDs and its so funny how certain songs/albums can remind you of a particular place and time. I mostly listen to music on public transport so unfortunately most of the memories are of buses..... So far all these memories have been popping up;
Team Sleep - Walking in Wilson in the dark after it has rained, its cold, Im looking at the reflections of the streetlights in the puddles, cosied up with my scarf and waiting to catch the bus.
Deftones White Pony - I think I was stuck in Ravensthorpe at the time I listened to this because all I can remember is sitting in my room feeling rather miserable.
Deftones self titled - Sitting on the bus going over Canning Bridge and along Canning Highway every morning while I was living in Applecross.
SP's Melon Collie - Esperance Hostel, Friday afternoons, running back from school after the siren, locking my bedroom door, cranking this up and feeling rather joyous.
Jeff Buckley - A boy?
Arcade Fire - Also reminds me of looking at puddles in the dark. I must look at puddles alot.
Interpol Bright Lights - Actually this doesnt remind me of anything it just makes me get teary.
Radiohead - Reminds me of home, sitting in my room with my sister, talking about our long-winded dreams.
ANYWAY, Its the Opening Ceremony tonight, I got a brochure from a tram guy that said, 'Do not catch a tram after 6! They will be stopping/full/people everywhere etc..'
I finish work at 6. CRAP. Looks like Im walking all the way home. It may only take me 40 minutes but thats 40 minutes i would rather NOT be walking.
