Life is like a box of chocolates that only has peppermint roughs in it. (I hate them)

My new housemate seems fascinated with my ability to read books, cook and draw. Its like hes never seen a book before (I quote, 'I haven't read a book in about 5 years'). He seemed amazed that I made pasta with a cream, pumpkin and mushroom sauce (He has now stocked the fridge with all those ingredients as he is going to attempt it himself), and stares over my shoulder when Im drawing and has requested a painting to hang up in the lounge(sigh).

WHY DOES LIFE HATE ME! So thats my good housemate #1. Housemate number #2 I met on the weekend for the first time. I was informed he was a 22 year old Dutch chef. Envisioning a Prince Frederick type with cooking ability I told Andrew that he sounded great and we should get him to live with us. Once again, Lisa is dealt an unfair hand in the housemates of hell game. He is a freaking hip hop dude. Like a total hip hop dude. Like fubu wearing, hip hop listening, call your mates on the phone and go 'Aaaaiiiiii' dude. WHY WHY WHY WHY. On the weekend he invited me to go to the HiFi bar because he could get in for free to the 'AUSTRALIAN DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS'. I politely made up some excuse to not go. Yesterday Milan(#2) and Andrew set up mixers and stuff in the spare room. AND THEY PLAY HIP HOP AND NICKELBACK ON IT. I swear I exist in some twisted freaks mind where they put me in countless cruel situations so they can watch and cackle at my misery.

Although I hadnt met housemate #2 last week I was getting suspicious of him when I saw Rocky I,II and III and well as some Narc dvd on top of the TV. I really dont know how im going to handle this. I cant even hold a conversation with this guy because the whole time my head is screaming 'HIP HOP IS SHIT YOU IDIOT', while Im politely smiling and saying something like 'No, i dont really listen to hip hop'. Ugh. Luckily he works from 4pm to 2am so I only see him on weekends. But that still leaves me with Nickleback guy for the rest of the week.

On friday night I went to the Corner Hotel and watched Spoon. By myself. By myself in a corner. I spent about two hours standing by the stage trying to look like maybe i had friends turning up and I was waiting. This involves shifting the feet, looking at the watch, phone, and the door. The gig was ok, but they arent really that exciting to watch, i think the crowd was being a bit boring. There seemed to be a couple of OC crowd that looked disappointed and bored and SAT ON THE EDGE of the stage while Spoon played. I got a set list though by batting my eyes. Im getting good at that. Then I walked home, it only took like 10 minutes = awesome.
