01 [Accidental Video]
[The PCD screen suddenly comes to life. Nothing can be seen but the sky above, almost perfectly blue save for a few clouds floating across the scene. No sound is heard. But then a voice, quiet, hesitant, crackles over the speakers...]
Where am I?
[A few moments of silence pass before the image of Faye Valentine’s face flickers into view, confused and a little annoyed. The video shakes briefly as she presumably picks up the PCD to examine it. In a way, it’s a familiar object, like the handheld communicator she usually carries with her, but there’s something different about it.]
What the hell is this thing…?
[The video zooms in closer and closer on her face as she holds the device and inspects it a little more closely. Her eyes widen and a frown appears on her features as the realization hits her. She pulls the device back, and the view widens.]
Is it ON? How do you turn it off?!
[She pushes some random buttons, but nothing happens. The video shakes and blurs for a while before Faye finally gives up doing... whatever she's doing. A quiet thud can be heard before the screen shows nothing but white boots pacing on top of the barren ground.]
