22 [Accidental Video]

May 27, 2011 00:39

[The view that comes over the feed is set at what's practically a Dutch angle, an indication that the PCD recording has been cast on its side. It's a little disorienting at first, but there are a few key aspects of the scene that can be noted, even in this condition ( Read more... )

[Spike, of course, has picked up her accidental video post and has taken no time in answering. He speaks into the video feed with a stern concern.]

Where are you?

[When she hears that familiar voice, there's some rustling of the PCD (as she's presumably reaching for it), before her face appears. Her eyes are staring blearily into the camera. She's too shaken, too... preoccupied to try to fight him on this. At least for the moment. There's no verbal response. Just a set of coordinates.]

Hold on.
[His response is a brisk, short one, uttered just before he shuts off the feed and maps the coordinates. It's only a matter of minutes before he makes it to her side.

[Placing his hands on her shoulders firmly, he looks into her eyes.]

What happened, Faye?

Pfft. You had better things to do. GOD. XD p0ker_alice May 31 2011, 03:42:47 UTC
[She doesn't react to his touch, and she doesn't give him an answer. No, she can't trust herself to speech at the moment, and even if she could, she wouldn't know how to describe what just happened. His gaze on her is too much. Partially to avoid his eyes, she shifts away, moving her head slightly in the direction of Fran's corpse lying nearby.]

[He follows her gaze, catching sight of Fran's body. He knew what Fran meant to Faye, and he frowned, looking back at her. She didn't need to explain.

[Until he saw that gaping wound on her leg.]

Shit, Faye. What happened to your leg?
[He peels off his jacket, wrapping it around her thigh and dressing the wound as best he could.]

And obviously that is more important than RP. XD p0ker_alice June 1 2011, 04:10:57 UTC
[She doesn't try to fight him on it, instead simply letting him do as he will. In fact, there isn't much fight left in her right now. Or much of an indication of anything behind those eyes. There's some part of her that's grateful that she didn't have to explain. But she's otherwise completely numb. Her face holds no emotion, apart from a slight wince when he reaches the most sensitive part of the wound, and her dulled eyes continue to stare into nothing.]

Totally! realfolkinblue June 1 2011, 05:22:57 UTC
[He finishes dressing her wound, weaving an arm under hers. Carefully, he lifts her off of the ground, glancing back at Fran briefly. Turning back to her, he sighs.]

Let's get you home.

I have no good excuses. I'm just slow. :3 p0ker_alice June 2 2011, 01:45:14 UTC
[Home might sound great right about now. This place, she... she can't be here anymore. Even if she's avoiding looking at that corpse with everything she has, she knows it's there. It's almost as if Fran's now lifeless eyes can still see her, and she feels that gaze. A constant reminder of what she's done. The gunshot echoes painfully in her mind, and she can't, she can't--

She has to leave, for the sake of her own sanity. But at the same time, there's something keeping her here, rooting her feet to the spot as Spike finally pulls her off the ground. She stands still, statue-like, her face holding that same emotionless expression.]

Me too. realfolkinblue June 2 2011, 05:05:26 UTC
[He wouldn't dream of making her walk on that injury, so he steps in front of her, kneeling.]

Get on.

[That gets the first inkling of some kind of emotion to be seen out of her in the past while. She just stares incredulously at him as he kneels. No, she's not getting on. She'll walk on this injury before she does that. It makes her remember Whitney, even if it's brief, and she'd rather not have that intrude right at the moment.]

[He returns a similar look, baffled by her sheer stubbornness.]

You expect me to let you walk on that leg, Faye?

I can walk.

[Her tone isn't even indignant. Just quiet. Her gaze has now dropped back to the ground.]

Do you need my help?

[She doesn't bother answering, and instead attempts to walk on her own, just to prove she can. That she doesn't need his help. But her point will fail to be made. When she takes a step, it's too much; a sharp pain causes her to stop short. She's hissing, grimacing, but trying to go on.]

[Spike merely watches her fail to make her point, ready to step in when she finally admits she's wrong, in whatever verbal or non verbal way she decides to do it.]

You sure about that?

[When he phrases it like that, she has to take it as a challenge. Even in this condition. And besides, a challenge provides a distraction. As long as she's working on this, she's focused, and she doesn't have to think about what just happened. The more she can push that off to the side, the better. For the sake of her own sanity.

One foot in front of the other. Come on, Faye, it's not that hard. She swallows, then gingerly tries to take a step. Her foot is barely off the ground when the pain starts again, searing and unbearable, so much so that tears are beginning to form in her eyes. She tries, with all the effort she can possibly muster, to blink them back and keep going. She has to, she--

She stops in her tracks, shaking, a quiet but strangled cry escaping her before she can stop it. She can't go on like this.]
