Did I deserve this?
Off the plane on saturday, slept through most of sunday, at work on Monday. Got the 0403343340 phone number back again. Monday night I went to bed at a respectable 10pm. Woke up and was the usual 10 minutes late to work because you dont want to appear too eager.
All things were going fine until the last job of the day. The easy part was to move 8 PC's around the client's offices, and when everybody has gone home I was allowed to shut the server down and replace a failing fan.
So I shut down the server, replaced the fan. Too noisy, had to use the alternative spare parts. So I shut the server down again and replace the fan. Fails to boot. By 9:30pm I give up and drag the server to the ASK offices and find that the front panel is stuffed. It's only a cosmetic piece of plastic, but still unexpectedly broken. At 1am I can finally confirm that it was a corrupted driver, and can now proceed to restore the server to it's original state and repair the system again, this time on the RAID disk.
So it is now 2am, still slightly jet-lagged, waiting the 39 microsoft minutes until the next button press, and I am asking myself, "Did I deserve this?"
