Valentine's Day heart break

Feb 19, 2008 16:05

So last week while I was away on vacation, two of my friends split up. It was, and still is a very sad thing. The split-up occurred due to a cheating incident. The poor girl was the one being cheated on. She found her boyfriend "Frenching" another girl. Then she apparently overhead them talking about having sex together later on. Obviously she was shocked. We all were... She and the boy in question are only four-years-old after all.

The teachers remain stumped as to the best sort of punishment for this "player" type of behavior. Obviously the boy should not have cheated on his girlfriend simply because she happened to be out sick that day and he was lonely for company. But it's also a free country and the two were not married or anything. And then there's the whole tongue kissing and fondling while underage issue... Where's the pre-school Doctor Phil when you need him?

As for me, I'm just sad that my poor friend ended up getting dumped for no good reason. I can only hope that she takes away an important lesson from all this heart break. Namely, four-year-old guys can't be trusted. And, as she'll soon find out, a lot of guys never really get any older than that.

Edit: Just in case it was not obvious, I am using the teacher definition of "friends" in the beginning of this post. I'm not sure why, but pre-school teachers refer to other students as "friends" rather than, say, "students" or "pupils". As in, "I know Billy called you a 'cunt', Sara, but we do not hit our friends."
