As if moving wasn't a big enough PITA...
Our new potential apartment complex won't approve our application until we get the thumbs-up from our current complex.
But our current complex won't do that until we give our 30 day notice (even though lease isn't up until 2012).
So we have to give notice to move out before we have locked down a place to move to.
I asked, "what if we give notice and then you don't approve us?" They said, "then you can retract your 30 day notice." WTF is the point of a thirty day notice if I can just retract it? I am sure there are some fees involved.
I am sure they will approve us since we are good tenants but that really is a stupid policy. As long as we do our thirty day notice on time we should be allowed to hold it off until we know for sure we are moving.
