This Weekend in Football...

Nothing warms my heart more than watching the mighty fall. In this case, it is USC laying an egg against un-ranked Washington. Say sayoonara to the Top 10, don't let it trip you on the way out, losers.

Speaking of losers, it's too bad that Michigan St. lost to ND as I would have loved to have seen Notre Dame's hope leak out their eyeballs, but it turns out Michigan State just doesn't have it in them to beat anyone, it seems.

In Big Ten news, happy to see the winners are winning again: Ohio St, Michigan, and Penn St. all taking games they should have won no question. But next week divisional play begins which brings us to IU.

Indiana University is one of 27 teams in the NCAA that remains unbeaten. For this one week, we student body can actually experience the joy of pretending we're decent...until Michigan dashes those hopes on the rocks of the Big House. Seriously, I predict a shalaking the likes of which has been banned by the Geneva Convention as a warcrime. The last time IU beat Michigan in Ann Arbor was 1967 when IU went to the Rose Bowl. Michigan is up in this series 30 games to 1.

Last but not least, I'd like to leave Collegiate play with this thought:

His name isn't Jahvid Pretty-Good or Jahvid Nice or even Jahvid Fast. His name is Jahvid Best.

And now for Professional Hand-Egg.

I think someone in the NY Giants administration has made a deal with Higher or Lower powers. Seriously, I have never seen a football program as blessed by crazy plays as these guys. Someone get Eli Manning a lottery ticket!

Also in New York, the Jets beat the Patriots. The only thing that could have made that game any better was if a D-Lineman had shattered Brady's knee so badly it could never be operated on for fear of his knee leaking out. Actually, on second thought, leave him in. He sucks. Better his reputation ruined for ever than have him injured and martyred.

Bears against the Steelers. Watched this game once again with moonartemis76 . I like the Bears...so long as they aren't letting their emotions run wild. It has been explained to me that the Bears are an emotional team, but honestly, you're getting paid millions of United States legal tender to NOT commit pre-snap penalties and unsportmanlike conduct fouls. Try to pretend you're professionals here.

But the Steelers lost and that makes me happy so I will overlook this...this week.
