So rock on Martin Luther King. Your dream gave many of us a much needed day off on Monday... and lots of other less selfish things of course. =)
This weekend was fantastic. It started off with some team bowling in Attleboro. It took far to long to get there thanks to the stupid rush hour traffic on 95. It ended up being me, Jenn, Amy, Kim, Anne Marie, and Amanda. I did alright... ish. I sort of forgot how to throw the ball down the lane for much of the first string, lol. I did manage to get 2 strikes in a row during the second game though. So yay! We enjoyed some work bonding and ridiculous picture taking and whatnot. All in all... we pretty much need to do it again.
Saturday's teaching went really well, which was nice. The girls were actually ready and didnt talk so much that it made my bones ache. We got a lot of things cleaned up, and I felt good leaving. After that I came home and puttered around for a bit before getting my hair cut. Finally! I dont think I had gotten it cut since June or July, so it was beyond time for trim. She took off a bit more length than I was expecting, but the style turned out well. Then I went out and did some errands, including a trip to BestBuy! I got a new digital camera! YAY! Its awesome. I got a Canon Powershot with a movable screen. I havent figured everything out yet, but I am so excited to finally have a good camera. Now I just have to take lots of pictures!
Saturday night was Jen's birthday dinner at Maggiano's. We took the commuter rail in and hit up Sweetwater Cafe before heading over to the restaurant. Words cannot even describe how amazing and delicious this meal was. I GORGED myself on the finest Italian food including stuffed mushrooms, fried mozzarella, salad, gnocchi in a vodka cream sauce, pesto cheese ravioli, fish, chicken parm, chocolate cake, and tiramisu! HOLY CRAPLOAD OF FOOD! I gained about 2843207.4 pounds and am surprised I didnt fall into a serious food coma leading to an arterial explosion! It was so good, and I was thrilled to be around to celebrate Jen's 26th. We had some time to kill after stuffing our faces severely, so we chilled at Remingtons until it was time to head back to the ole 'wood for some sleepage.
Sunday I got up and sang at church, which was a bit rough after having a few beers and a jager shot the night before... whoops! After churching, it was time for a few bites of left over gnocchi and off to pick up with wife! We had waiting a whole year for our annual shopping extravaganza and it was FINALLY HERE! We headed off to Providence Place to spend some money and treat ourselves to the nice things we want and deserve! =) We both had a very successful trip. I got a bunch of new shirts, a nice pair of pants, some earrings, some new bras and undies, and some new make-up. We also had a perfect Subway lunch to replenish our energy. We ended up being at the mall for almost 5 and a half hours! It totally didnt feel that way, although by the last store, we were ready.
We headed back to Norwood with a good sized hole burned into our wallets, but nothing too overwhelming. I got home and just spend the rest of the night chatting with the madre, showing her some of my new stuff, and just relaxing.
Monday I got to sleep in a bit, which was pretty sweet! I got up and did some laundry before heading to Belmont for a voice lesson. I had another good lesson with Pam. We worked on a couple other things in my audition pieces and really took them to a much better level. I feel good about where I am at for this point in time. I just need to keep working until auditions get here, and hopefully I can show them all what ive got. (barf)
I got out of there later than expected, so I raced home to do some baking! I wanted to make some cookies to bring to the table for my hot chocolate date. So I made some pretty god chocolate cookies with powdered sugar on them and raced into the city to meet Jon. We had what really good be the worlds most delicious hot chocolate at the Borders cafe. They put whipped cream and a chocolate stick and white chocolate flakes on top, which it was makes it so yummy! It was delightful. We sat and chatted for a little over an hour and then it was time for Coro.
I am not sure what direction things are going to go in with Jon, but I really enjoy spending time with him. Its nice to hang out with someone who has ideas and makes plans and makes me laugh. I just have to be careful about not getting ahead of myself I think. Keep it light and happy and just enjoy the moments. =)
Coro went well, which was a relief. I am already a bit nervous about this concert. Its going to be fucking great as long as everyone does what they need to do. The music is really wonderful, and I cant wait to get it to the stage of real musicality.
I got home Monday night and was pretty disappointed that reality was going to slap me in the face the next morning. It has been a long time since I have had a whole weekend of spending time with friends and getting things accomplished and just feeling good. Its nice to be positive more of the time now. Its nice to be out and living life and making things happen. I still have a lot of things I need to do to figure myself out and get my life to where I feel it needs to go... but the hole is getting more and more shallow, and im so glad. As good as I can be at being a miserable and unsocial person, I dont like it very much. So... yay for a great weekend!
OH! I also bought some fleece bed sheets... they are awesome! Now that I hung up the curtains Min made me for Christmas and my room is all dark and my bed is all warm... getting up in the morning for work is even harder!
Ok.... time for the pre-bed routine.
