Long weekends rule

May 28, 2007 10:42

I think every weekend should be long. I know that then they would also just develop into something that wasnt enough, but still. Id take the risk!

This week has been a little nutty, and next will actually be much of the same. One exciting thing that I did get accomplished was my audition video for the Boston PopSearch 2007! Its a competition they hold every year I guess (I hadnt known before this year), and the winner gets to sing at the big 4th of July thing they do on the esplanade, and gets $5000!! I am not expecting much, but I figured that it couldnt hurt to submit something. There are like 233 videos that the judges will narrow down to 16 for the next round. So we'll see! Its going to be posted on the 29th. Wish me luck! You can check out my audition too if you want. =) Im on page 2. http://www.youtube.com/group/popsearch07

Lets see... work was pretty annoying again this week. Didnt have a whole lot to do the second half of the week. =( I hate being bored.

I did have a REALLY great voice lesson on Wednesday! I was worried cause I was running late and then I left all my music at home... but we worked on Gluck's "Che faro" and it went SO well! She was like, "I cant imagine this being done any better." While she probably didnt mean it to that degree, it was nice to hear! =) So yay!

Apparently the kids had rehearsal for the Memorial Day parade on Thursday too. Glad I was informed about that one! And by informed I mean, Chuck left me a message which I didnt get about a half hour before it started. Nice huh?

Friday night I didnt really do a whole lot. Just hung out at the house, which was nice.
Saturday I went and got my hair cut at Benny's salon. I LOVE getting my hair cut. I got a couple inches taken off and some more layers added, just to get rid of the split ends and some heaviness. It came out really well! Renae always does a great job. It looked very much like Sarah Jessica Parkers in Season 6 Part 1 when she's with Burger! =) Too bad I cant make it look like that again. Argh!
I walked around the city for a little bit afterwards on the way back to my car, which was wonderful! Then I went and got a wax. Hahah. I got all my hair done in one day! lol.
Then I spent the rest of the day being productive.
Yesterday I woke up wicked early for no reason. I had to get up relatively early anyway, but 5am... not so much. I had to sub at Wellesley Hills Church again for Mary, which is always fun. The people there are very nice, and I like the conductor. Im sort of excited because Pam told me that Mary is leaving the job. She hasnt told the conductor at this point, and I doubt I would just be offered the gig, but it would be nice! I have subbed for her a bunch of times, so he knows my voice somewhat. He also knows a ton of singers in the Boston area.... im also subbing at their rehearsal on Wednesday, so I will just have to make sure to sing really well! Id LOVE a church gig! Imagine... getting paid to do something I love! WOW! Anywho... after that I cam home and was lazy. I read outside for a bit, napped... then I met up with Jackie, Terry, and Dean to play some frisbee in the park. Im not very good, but its fun! It was nice to be with people enjoying the awesome weather. We must make it happen more often. Then it was back home to shower and be serenaded by my neighbors. I definitely use the word "serenaded" lightly. It was HORRIBLE!!! Buckets, electric guitars, metal bowls, and car horns were all involved in the "music making". It literally went on ALL DAY! From around noonish or so till almost 10pm. Songs ranged from "The Beautiful People" to "Blackbird". So weird. Im really hoping its not a weekly event. Before bed I spent some time with Matt, which was as fun as usual. =P

Today I dont plan on doing all that much. I do need to do some laundry, maybe finish my book, and hopefully start studying for the GRE's. I need to get on that so I have a couple chances to take them. I will probably suck the first time since I dont remember ANY math. Oy!

Welp... guess thats it for now. See ya later!
