A little of this, a little of that...

My bookshelf no longer looks as if it's going to leap out at me and kill me in my sleep! This is Very Important. Everything is also sorted by author. I did not realize until now that I do not actually own my favorite Rincewind or my favorite Watch novels (though I do own The Truth, which is my second favorite Discworld book at the moment, the first ( Read more... )

Re point 1: Yeah, I think that would fit in with Lost's tendencies to go for the crushing anvil of irony. I also think that the fact that the Losties' actions this season seem to have caused things that we saw in earlier years, therefore creating a cycle, may tie in very much with what Jacob and the other man were saying at the beginning. Structurally anyway, if not literally. And because of the line about things only ending once, I do hope that that cycle, (as well as the larger one of the island being populated and people getting fucked over) might be able to be destroyed.

Anyway, either time has to change because of the bomb or SOMETHING else has to happen that changes things. Because we've seen Chang after he lost his arm. He didn't die.

But was Locke really nothing special, as Richie Ricardus would have us believe?

I am hoping Jack's line to Richard was more than just another bit of cruelty from the writers. (I have been waiting for SO MANY EPISODES for Locke and Jack to actually get on.)

would put a pretty negative spin on his character for a lot of people.

*looks innocent*

I really despised the Locke flashback, because it was making a joke out of what was previously one of the most emotional things ever in Lost for me (strictly that was Locke's reaction to the wheelchair, but the whole episode in general). But yeah, Jacob did seem to bring Locke back to life, and he did say everything was going to be OK. Shame I don't trust him at all, and shame I have the suspicion that it was all Jacob engineering the stabbing. (He's too clever to get killed like that by accident, surely?)

The Thing wandering around now does seem to have Locke's memories though, either that or it can read minds and read Ben's.

I want to be positive but I also don't want to be let down again. At the moment it's pretty much like my entire theory of Lost and everything I loved about it has been invalidated, so.
