Worst/Best Finale Ever. :'(

Words we had said
Grew in my head
Colored my thoughts
Sang me to bed

Lost memories
Grew into trees
Cover the doors
Swallow the keys

Winters have come and gone you know
Winters have come and gone you know
But I'll meet you young and free
For a dance round the memory tree

Said I forgot
But I did not
Dreams we have had
Play in my head

Did we believe,

The Doctor collects companions like a light collects moths. His latest was Donna Noble, a brash, abrasive, hilarious woman who was brash and abrasive because she thought no one would notice her otherwise. Through her time with the Doctor, she went from being brash and abrasive to being brash and warm and motherly and so much better than the woman who thought the most excitement in life came from a new flavor of pringle.

But then she got the Doctor's memories in her head - and a time lord has different thought processes and different syynapses and human mind isn't made to process things that way, or to remember 900+ years of life. So...Donna got her memories if her time with the Doctor retconned. She was awesome and saved the universe, allowing all the doctor's other companions their happy endings...

...and got all her memories of the doctor and everything special she done erased and she can't ever remember or she'll die. She went back to being the insecure, shallow, abrasive woman, and her Grandad has to remember how awesome she was for her.

I mean, I know it's just a TV show, but forgetting and being forgotten are my absolute worst fears, and Donna is my favorite, so it's just...hitting close to home?

::hugs for Gail::

(And we're cryptic because it's not out in the US for a couple weeks yet, and some people don't have computers conducive to downloading from MU or whatnot. :3 )

Oh, that is just shitty D= Poor Donna! I know a lot of people liked her.

And I understand the hitting-close-to-home thing =/ I bet that's hard, especially with her being your fav, and all. How'd she wind up with the Dr's memories, anyway? >.o That's like... gah, obnoxious, to force her to do that. Undoing all that character growth... maaaaan =/

And who is Russel Davies? >.> Cathryn was mad at him, too.

(Actually, Cathryn was cryptic cuz she was too upset and didn't wanna talk about it :P thank you for 'splaining, tho =D )

She touched something she shouldn't have and got his regeneration energy in her. Somehow.

Russel T Davies was the main producer type person. Journey's End was his last episode, and he was talking about how he wanted to clean the slate for his successor or somesuch (I dunno, I don't like him 'cuz he doesn't let his awesome characters be awesome for long) but I don't think we ever expected this.

Aaaah. That explains Cathryn's dislike, too. That's pretty much exactly what she said, about not letting characters be awesome.... Blech :P At least he's gone for the next season. Even if, apparently, it's not for another two years >.>
