I would love to! Do I have to dress fancy or casual or beachwear?

Umm.. [looks up, mischievously] Which one is the right one for goin' to see Mister Sal?

[rebecca_cain]

[makes a face] Very casual. [smiles]

[maxthemonkey]

[grins, then makes a serious face] I think you should dress very ca-shul. [nods] 'cause I will not say where we are goin'. [grins] It is a-prise. [grins again]

[rebecca_cain]

[she hums] Mmmm. Surprises are one of my favorite things. [she points towards her room] I'll go change. Be back in a minute. [she leans down to place a kiss on the top of his head]

[maxthemonkey]

[waits until she leaves, then bolts for his room]

[collects his money box and takes out one of the bills, knowing exactly how much he needs; replaces the box and returns to where he left her]

[rebecca_cain]

[she returns a few moments later, dressed casually. She smiles when she sees him.] Okay, I'm ready.

[he's beaming; her smiles make him feel better] I toll-d Mommy that we are goin' on a date. She said I gotta 'member to off-fer my arm. [holds his arm out, even though he's still not tall enough to hold hers properly]

[rebecca_cain]

[grins] How 'bout we hold hands. I think your arm is gonna start hurting before we get to where we're going. [nods] I'm sure Mom will understand.

[maxthemonkey]

[considers her suggestion and nods; takes her hand and leans against her] Are you ready to have [makes a face] fun?

[rebecca_cain]

[nods] Oh, yes, I'm ready for fun! [squeezes his hand]

[maxthemonkey]

[bounces] Okay! Go time! [pulls her toward the door and helps her down the porch steps]

[as they reach the gate, he smiles] It is a very nice day.

[rebecca_cain]

[glances up at the sky, then smiles] Perfect day for a date.

[maxthemonkey]

[beams; when they get to the street, he looks both ways, then nods] It is safe.

[he waves to Lani, who nods to both of them, and points toward the beach] We should go this way.

[rebecca_cain]

[smiles] Thank you for checking.

[waves and smiles at Lani] Okay. [she glances down at Max,smiles]

[as they cross the street, he tries to think of something to talk about, but nothing comes to mind] Mama... what do you talk a-bout when you go on a date with Daddy and Mel?

[He wants this to be a good date, after all]
