This is one of those stories you didn't realize you wanted until you stumble across it. If you've ever read the Little House books, and you have a passing interest in a post-apocalypse story featuring the Ingalls family, you can't pass this up. There is subtle humor underneath, as well as some real creepiness.
The author gets the tone of the Little House books down perfectly, the details of their everyday life, the food they have in the cellar, their meals, keeping zombies out of the yard... oh, right, that wasn't in the books! heh
