LOVE MEME: Because mean people suck.
And I hate wank (even if I am drawn to it on occasion like a bad car wreck on the side of the road). And I hate that anonymity turns (cowardly) people into asshats. So I've decided to do something positive to counteract the stupid.
Are there people on your friends list who can always be counted on to brighten up your inbox by saying something nice? Are there people that you think support fandom and don't get enough credit for it? Are there people who encourage you every day by rising above adversity? Are there people who you just plain adore but never say it enough? Are there people who have drifted away from fandom that you miss terribly? Are there people whose work has inspired you but you never got a chance to tell them?
Tell me about them, here, in comments. I'm going to start with a handful of people picked randomly from my flist. If I didn't pick you, it doesn't mean I don't love you, because I love you all. I'm pretty much closing my eyes and poking a finger at my userinfo.
Now, I am going to be gone for a lot of today, so I will not have much chance to monitor this, and I will not be responding to comments, for the most part. This is for YOU to have fun loving on YOUR friends. Therefore, I am making this public and allowing anonymous commenting with no IP addys. So feel free to pimp this far and wide:
NO WANKING!!! Wanky posts will be deleted and the posters will be spanked. (Although if you'd like to request a spanking for no particular reason, I'd be happy to oblige)
ETA: Please feel free to start a thread for yourself, because we all could use a little more love. Besides, anyone who reads this journal knows I'm all for the self-love, especially if battery-operated devices are involved.
ETA2: Don't be shy about starting threads for your friends, even if I don't know them (or I don't know you) or you don't think many people here will know them. The original idea was to single out people who don't get enough credit for being wonderful.
