It can be hard to find new ways to promote author appearances, especially when they happen close together. In this case, that’s close together in distance-the next one’s less than a mile from the last one, and only three and a half weeks later. The advantage is that they’re in different kinds of places, moving from a library to an art gallery.

Much appreciated! I don't expect anyone to drive a hundred miles for it, but maybe I'll pick up some people driving twenty miles. It's always worth stopping to see the courthouse across the street, anyway.

Yes, times have changed: I don't know where many of my friends live. In some cases I don't know the color of their skin or whether they're male or female.

That is very true of a lot of my friends now that I think about it
